The Cotton County Commission recently updated its emergency hazard mitigation grant agreement with the state of Oklahoma, which must be done every five years.

On Nov. 9, the commission voted 3-0 to approve a $37,500 hazard mitigation grant with a local match of $12,500, according to the minutes from that meeting. The local matching funds will come from the county’s emergency management department.

In other recent business, the commission voted 3-0 on Nov. 16 to approve safety awards for all county employees. All full-time workers will receive a $250 award, and employees who have been on the job for six months or fewer will get a $100 award.
