Eiger reports loss for quarter

PALO ALTO, Calif. (AP) - Eiger BioPharmaceuticals Inc. (EIGR) on Friday reported a loss of $16.9 million in its fourth quarter.

On a per-share basis, the Palo Alto, California-based company said it had a loss of 69 cents.

For the year, the company reported that its loss widened to $70.3 million, or $3.08 per share.

Eiger BioPharma shares have decreased 62% since the beginning of the year. The stock has fallen 58% in the last 12 months.
