Oklahoma is one of the better states for driving, according to the online insurance marketplace QuoteWizard.

Oklahoma ranked 40th out of 50 states in the firm’s fifth annual Best and Worst Drivers by State Report. The report ranked states from the worst to the best.

Wyoming, Virginia, Colorado, New Jersey, and South Dakota were the five worst driving states, while West Virginia, Missouri, Michigan, New Mexico, and Texas were the five best.

QuoteWizard analyzed more than 2 million insurance quotes to determine which states had the best and worst drivers. Rankings were built on a composite score based on four driving incident factors:

  • Accidents
  • Speeding tickets
  • DUIs
  • Citations

States with the worst drivers had the highest rates of each incident factor, while the states with the best drivers had the lowest rates.
