CHICKASHA – Shay and Lindsay Hayes, owners of Viridian Coffee, added one more location to the family’s local business.

Bringing fresh, locally roasted coffee to southwest Oklahoma, the couple launched Viridian Coffee’s flagship location in Duncan in 2016. Adding two locations in Lawton, the fourth location in Chickasha opened last week.

Located at 2121 S. 4th Street in Chickasha, Viridian’s soft opening was quite successful, the couple said. New members of the team are learning to work well together to ensure that each cup is perfectly blended, and guests enjoy their overall experience, Lindsay added.

After being stationed in Germany, Shay felt as though southwest Oklahoma was a “coffee desert” he told Southwest Ledger last year. The couple began roasting coffee beans locally to ensure freshness “you can’t get in a grocery store”, he added.

Whether it’s a frozen hot chocolate, cold brew macchiato, or piping hot macchiato, Viridian Coffee invites guests to visit, study, conduct meetings or just enjoy their beverage of choice in the relaxed, aromatic atmosphere shared at each location.

“As we train our team and get everybody situated, we’re very thankful to be a part of the community and be able to serve,” said Shay following the soft opening.

While details are still in the works, Shay did mention the coffeehouse should have its grand opening before Chickasha’s annual Festival of Light kicks off on November 21. With holiday lighting displays, carriage rides, food trucks, and more, the community holiday lighting display brings thousands of visitors from across the Southwest to the community each year.
