LAWTON - The filing period for local board of education elections — common school and career tech — is Dec. 2-4. In most districts, Area five office, for a five-year term is up for election. Some districts have vacancies to fill, too.

There is no filing fee. One must be a registered voter and live in the school district. All school patrons can vote. Voter registration closes on Jan. 17, 2020. Last day to request an absentee ballot is Feb. 5. Early voting is Feb. 6 and 7. Primary election is Feb. 11. General election is Apr. 7.
