Chamber names Scott its board chairman

LAWTON – Last week Lawton-Fort Sill Chamber of Commerce named Mark Scott as Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Scott, who joined the board in 2019, succeeds Jennifer Ellis, president and CEO of Cosmetic Specialty Labs, Inc. Ellis had served as Lawton-Fort Sill Chamber of Commerce’s chairwoman since 2019.

“Mark brings a wealth of knowledge in a variety of different industries,” said Brandi Sims, Vice President of Communications and Membership for Lawton-Fort Sill Chamber of Commerce. “He is one of the vice presidents of Arvest, with more than a decade of banking experience. We’re definitely excited to not only have that financial background coming into the chamber and helping in that aspect, but also, his community involvement is pretty extensive.”

Mark Scott has been employed with Arvest Bank since 2008 holding various positions until he was promoted to Vice President of Commercial Relations in 2015.

In addition to serving as board president of Family Promise of Lawton and being involved with the Finance Committee for Lawton-Fort Sill Chamber of Commerce, Scott is also a member of the Lawton Economic Development board, Salvation Army of Lawton Advisory Board and the Armed Services YMCA Executive Board. He is a charter board member for Young Professionals of Lawton and past board member for the Lawton AMBUCS.

“Serving as the new Chairman of the Chamber Board of Directors is an incredible honor and I look forward to being a part of the Chamber as we navigate newly uncharted territories in business,” said Mark Scott, Board Chair of the Lawton Fort Sill Chamber of Commerce. “Our mission is to provide value-added benefits to our membership as well as advocacy for the voice of our business community, which we fully intend to deliver on in the upcoming year.

“I’m glad to serve in that capacity,” he added. “It’s truly a position of service and it’s a tremendous honor.” Scott earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Oklahoma State University with minors in Accounting and International Business and Master of Business Administration from Cameron University.

Immediate past chair Jennifer Ellis said, “It has been a great honor and privilege to serve as the [chairwoman] of the Lawton-Fort Sill Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. As the third woman to serve in this capacity, I am proud of our accomplishments and look forward to continuing in the future.”

“With the diverse background that he has, it brings a lot of new, fresh ideas into perspective to the chamber that will certainly be utilized especially now,” Sims said
