Lawton PD names public information officer

    Lawton Police Chief James Smith has appointed Christopher Blessing to the position of public information officer for the Lawton Police Department, city officials said in a news release.

    Blessing began his career with LPD in July 2015 as a patrol officer. He then transferred to the Community Oriented Policing Unit in 2019. Sgt. Blessing is also a part of LPD’s Bike Team and Emergency Response Team.

    “I look forward to continuing positive interactions with the public and highlighting our police officer,” Blessing said.

    He began his new duties Monday.
