ROOSEVELT – An 80/20 grant enabled the Town of Roosevelt to buy a 22 kilowatt single-phase generator for a sewage pump station, former Mayor Nolan McCall told Southwest Ledger.

The $7,019 unit was purchased with a $5,000 grant from the Midwestern Oklahoma Development Authority in Burns Flat, coupled with $2,019 in local funds, he said.

“We needed one,” McCall added. The pump station pushes wastewater south under U.S. Highway 183 to the town’s sewage treatment lagoons, he said.

Carter Electric of Elk City was the lowest of three bidders for the contract.
