Altus Air Force Base is scheduled to host the Altus Airpower Stampede Open House and Air Show on April 12-13.
The free, two-day event will be open to the public, providing an opportunity to witness world-class aerial demonstrations, to explore static displays of cutting-edge military aircraft, and to engage with airmen who execute Altus AFB’s critical global mobility training mission.
The base will be open both days at 8:30 a.m. The general public can enter through the South Gate, located at 428 Challenger Avenue, Altus, with ample parking available on base. The South Gate will transition to outbound traffic only at 2:30 p.m. DoD cardholders only may enter through the main gate.
Attendees are permitted one clear bag and one small clutch. Diaper bags with food and drink for small children and camera bags are allowed but subject to search. For a complete list of prohibited items, including weapons, outside food and drink (excluding baby food/drink), alcohol, pets, and coolers, visit https://www.altus.af.mil/ Altus-Airpower-Stampede/.

Attendees can also expect demonstrations by the F-35A Lightning II, a heritage flight featuring the P-51 Mustang “Gunfighter,” and the historically significant TORA! TORA! TORA! Pearl Harbor reenactment. The static display area will showcase a diverse collection of aircraft, including the C-5 Galaxy, KC-46 Pegasus, CH-47 Chinook, and many more. A comprehensive list of participating aircraft and performers is available on the Altus AFB website.
The Open House offers fun for the entire family. Interactive STEM exhibits hosted by installation, local, and state organizations will provide hands-on learning experiences for children and adults alike, showcasing career opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
Premium seating options are available for purchase on the base website. Visit the official event website at https://www.altus.af.mil/Altus- Airpower-Stampede/ for all details for this event.
