An Anadarko apartment complex operated by the Housing Authority of the Wichita Tribe has been placed under quarantine because two cases of the COVID-19 coronavirus have been reported in the rental units.

Anadarko City Manager Kenneth Corn said the city is working with the tribe to control the outbreak and has closed off the streets around the apartments to give police the ability to restrict access to the 40-unit Iscani Apartments at 1 Cornado Circle.

Additionally, traffic to and from the complex is being monitored by police and is limited to only residents who live at the complex.

Corn said the city and tribe are working closely to monitor the situation and are awaiting virus test results from some residents.

“Getting test results back has been problematic,” the city manager said. “When we get those back then we’ll know what more may need to be done.”

It could not be determined how many people are living in the low-income, senior apartments.
