From staff reports Lawton native Brent Easton has been named to the Comanche County Equalization and Excise Board to fill the vacancy created when long-time member Al Bennett retired. Comanche County District Judge Emmit Tayloe administered the oath of office Monday morning Easton joins Dustin Glover of Elgin and J.P. Richard of Lawton on the three-member board.

“I’d like to thank state Sen. Spencer Kern (R-Duncan) and state Rep. Trey Caldwell (R-Faxon) for carrying my nomination to the Oklahoma Tax Commission, which made the appointment,” Easton said.

“Brent Easton is a successful local business owner, CPA, and has been a pillar of the Southwest Oklahoma community throughout his life and career,” Kern said. “He will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the board, where I know he will continue to serve with dignity and integrity.”

Easton is a graduate of Lawton Eisenhower High School and the University of Oklahoma. For many years he helped his parents operate family businesses, including the Ace Hardware store on West Cache Road.
