LAWTON - Cameron University Vice President of Academic Affairs Dr. Ronna J. Vanderslice will be the guest speaker at Young Professionals Lawton’s Tuesday Luncheon held at the Hilton Garden Inn Lawton-Fort Sill Convention Center, 135 NW 2nd Street.

Founded in 2017, Young Professionals (YP) is a team of educated, diverse and highly-driven young professionals who instill pride in the community by promoting leadership and service.

The group develops its members by with key networking opportunities and encouraging community involvement. Senior YP members also mentor newer members in the area.

In the past year, the group adopted a section of Wolf Creek, and maintains the creek by picking up litter and debris. They have also donated and installed chain nets for basketball goals for five different Lawton parks and partnered with United Way of Southwest Oklahoma’s Day of Caring Service Project to repaint the McMahon Skate Park.

“Our community service projects provide opportunities for members to not only interact with their peers but give back to the community and cultivate a city we can be proud to call home,” said YP Lawton Board Member Chris Martin.

All current, paid members are welcome to attend the luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 11.

This is an excellent way for members to connect or reconnect with other young professionals.

Tickets are $15 and are available at www.yplawton.org.
