CHICKASHA – A flag dedication ceremony will be held at 8:30 a.m. Friday at City Hall, and active-duty military members, veterans, and the entire community are invited.

“As we kick off our Festival of Freedom to celebrate America’s 250th birthday, this ceremony will be a meaningful way to honor the generations of Americans who have served, sacrificed, and worked to protect the freedoms we enjoy every day,” said Mayor Zachary Grayson.

Grayson is a U.S. Army veteran who served with the 366th Military Police Company during tours in Iraq in 2008-2009 and 2010-2011.

The flag dedication ceremony will include remarks from Grayson, a presentation of the colors, raising of the American flag, and the Pledge of Allegiance.

The Festival of Freedom is a series of community events and activities scheduled from Memorial Day through the 4th of July to celebrate patriotism, service, and America’s bisesquicentennial birthday. A full list of activities can be found on the Chamber of Commerce website, ChickashaChamber. com.
