From staff reports CHICKASHA – Grady Memorial Hospital announces it is expanding its services with the addition of comprehensive orthopedic and podiatry departments.

“These new services will provide residents with advanced care for musculoskeletal and foot-related conditions, ensuring patients receive the specialized treatment they need close to home and in a timely manner,” hospital Assistant Administrator Ty Pool said.

The orthopedic department will specialize in the diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries and diseases affecting bones, joints, ligaments, and muscles. “Normally these services are offered only in Oklahoma City,” Pool said.

The podiatry department will focus on the medical and surgical treatment of foot and ankle conditions, including a diabetic and non-diabetic wound specialist “which few specialists exist in Oklahoma,” Pool said.

Grady Memorial Hospital is partnering with Southwest Orthopedic Services to assist in making these specialists local, “so turnaround appointments will be a week out versus three to six weeks, which is the average time for these specialists in the state,” said Pool.

The new specialties will be housed in the Professionals Building on campus. The newly renovated facility offers all access on the main floor and all state-of-theart equipment, such as new lift-assisted beds, its own x-ray capability, and more.

Grady Memorial Hospital opened in 1959. The hospital is licensed to operate 49 acute care beds and is fully accredited by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. It anchors a healthcare network that includes a 24-hour physician-staffed emergency department and specialized medical and surgical services, and employs a staff of more than 300 healthcare professionals.
