Chickasha Wings & Wheels air show, car show set for June 7

    From staff reports CHICKASHA – The seventh annual Wings & Wheels Air Show and Car Show is scheduled for June 7 at the Chickasha Municipal Airport.

    The event will feature airshow performances, a car show, free airplane rides for children, and more. Gates will open at 8 a.m. and there will be no charge for parking or admission.

    Attendees will be treated to aerobatic displays from performers including Erik Edgren, Stephen Covington, Leland Kracher, Twisted Texan Airshows, Falcon Flight, and other acts. Crowd favorite Lady Liberty, with their popular children’s train ride, will return as one of the aircraft on static display.

    Children ages 8 to 17 can take a free airplane ride; registration begins at 8 a.m. and space is limited. During the 2024 event, more than 100 children enjoyed the thrill of flight thanks to the Young Eagles program.

    During this year’s NAPA Car Show, first and second place awards will be given in seven categories, with overall awards for Best Paint, Pilot’s Choice, People’s Choice and Best in Show. Registration for the NAPA Car Show will be open from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., with awards at approximately 1:30 p.m. Last year, the car show drew more than 130 classic and modern vehicles.

    NAPA Car Show pre-registration is also available online now at chickasha.org/wings. There is no cost to register.

    A variety of food trucks will serve breakfast, snacks and lunch, and vendor booths will be open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early and to bring sunscreen, sunglasses, and a lawn chair or blanket to sit on. Free bottled water will be available.

    Weapons, coolers, alcohol, pets and unauthorized motor vehicles, including scooters and skateboards, are not allowed on airport property. Medical devices including motorized wheelchairs are permitted. Shuttles will be available from the parking lot to the entrance, and handicap accessible parking will be reserved near the entrance.
