Approximately 250 dilapidated and dangerous structures in Lawton have been razed since 2020, and 26 were on the demolition list last month. But owners of 38 other D&D houses secured permits from City Hall to rehabilitate their properties, records show. Among them was this house at 1515 SW H Ave., which has been renovated inside and out, at no small expense. “This is really what we’re looking for,” Mayor Stan Booker said. “This structure previously wasn’t livable, but the property owner [Concepcion Bustillo] invested in it and now it’s a nice house that has made the block and the city a better place.”
