City of Lawton renews engineering contract

From staff reports LAWTON – The City Council renewed an agreement with Standard Engineering + Field Services of Oklahoma City to provide for professional engineering services to the City of Lawton.

The city’s Engineering Department “has had multiple vacant engineering positions for the past several years,” Engineering Director Michael Jones explained. In fact, both the Engineering Department and the Sewer System Technical Division have engineering vacancies,” he added.

City officials will continue to try to fill the vacancies, but until full-time engineers are hired, City Hall needs the services of an engineering consultant to provide engineering services “on an as-needed basis for various types of projects,” Jones said.
