City to require drivers to secure their loads

LAWTON – Lawton’s new ordinance requiring drivers to secure their loads will go into effect Monday.

Ordinance 22-4-1-408 mandates that drivers secure and cover all loads to prevent them from blowing away, falling into the road, leaking or escaping from the vehicle. Lawton City Council approved the measure, which is designed to prevent hazards on the road and keep the city litter-free, in July.
