Construction to improve Collier’s Landing at Lake Ellsworth has been underway for the past month. The City of Lawton received a matching grant from the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation to finance construction of a new dock, as well as an ADA-compatible pickup and boat trailer parking stall. The project also has included improving the access road; installing a culvert; and excavating the parking lot, as shown here last week, in preparation for asphalt paving. The road was widened “so cars can meet on the road and not have to drive into the grass or the ditch,” Lakes Supervisor Jim Bonnarens said.
