ANN ARBOR, Mich. – After more than 65 years of making pizza, Domino’s is putting its name on a pizza designed specifically for one. The Domino, a new Detroit-style pizza shaped like the company’s iconic logo, arrives nationwide Aug. 31, giving customers a way to get exactly what they want without compromising when everyone else at the table wants something different. Built for today’s more personalized eating occasions, the Domino combines portability, customization and a generous portion in a pizza made for one. Customers can choose their sauce and up to three toppings, making it easy to create a pizza that’s entirely their own.
The Domino starts with Domino’s premium, buttery-flavored pan dough, encrusted with real Parmesan and baked in a rectangular pan for a crisp, Parmesan-forward Detroit-style crust. It’s finished with two layers of cheese, the customer’s choice of sauce and toppings, plus a drizzle of Domino’s signature garlic seasoning.
And there’s no mistaking whose pizza it is. The Domino is shaped like the Domino’s logo and cut into two generous slices.
“When everyone wants something different, traditional pizza falls short,” said Joe Jordan, chief operating officer and president of Domino’s U.S., and incoming CEO. “The Domino lets every person build the exact pizza they want. It’s fitting that the next generation in pizza is shaped like the logo of the No. 1 pizza company in the world. The Domino is so mouthwatering that we gave it our name.”
According to independent consumer testing, people who have tried the Domino rated it among the most delicious products Domino’s has introduced. The company says the new pizza is designed to fill occasions where a traditional pizza may not fit from lunch on the go and late-night snacking to family pizza nights where everyone has a different craving.
The Domino will also be available through Domino’s Mix & Match Deal, where customers can choose any two or more eligible menu items, including a two-topping Domino, for $6.99 each.
The Domino launches at Domino’s stores nationwide on Aug. 31.
Customers can find their nearest store and order through Domino’s website or mobile app.
