DUNCAN – The Duncan City Council recently approved a pay request from IronClad Construction LLC, which is remodeling the east gazebo in Fuqua Park.
The council voted 4-0 June 11 to approve IronClad’s pay request for $36,100, which covers the company’s work on the project through June 3. Councilman Nick Fischer was absent.
A pay request is a payment for a previously approved project. Payments are made in installments as the project moves forward.
Last month, the council accepted IronClad’s bid to remodel the gazebo for $93,677. IronClad was the only company to submit a bid for the project.
The project includes redoing the fascia and soffit around the gazebo, installing a new roof and fixing or replacing the cupola on top, public works director Buddy Hokit said during the council’s May 14 meeting. The city also plans to install a railing around the gazebo’s raised platform, redo the lighting and put in a ramp leading down from the stage for people with disabilities.
Hokit said IronClad anticipated that the remodel would be finished by June 18.
