DUNCAN – Remodeling the restrooms in Duncan’s criminal justice center will cost $10,500 less than city officials anticipated.
The Duncan Public Utilities Authority, which is made up of the five Duncan City Council members, voted 5-0 Aug. 27 to approve a change order for the project. The change order, which is due to a change in construction materials, will reduce the project cost from $115,200 to $104,700 – a difference of $10,500.
“This never happens,” said Mayor Robert Armstrong. “We never underrun anything.”
Hope Equipment and Construction is the contractor for the project, which will consist of remodeling the restrooms in the criminal justice building, redoing the men’s shower and adding a women’s shower. The Duncan-based contractor has 120 days to complete the project.
