Duncan city manager thanks Wininger for her service

DUNCAN – Duncan City Manager Chris Deal thanked outgoing Councilwoman Patty Wininger at an April 22 farewell in the council’s chambers, located at the Duncan Police Department.

The farewell, attended by family, friends and constituents, took place before the regularly scheduled council meeting.

Deal expressed his appreciation on behalf of the city f or Wininger’s commitment to Ward Three residents and all citizens for her service, which began May 2, 2016, and ended May 5, 2025, with the sw earing- in ceremony of incoming Ward Three Councilman David Leonard.

“Councilwoman Wininger is an individual whom I have immense respect for, as her efforts on behalf of our community extend far beyond her service as a council member,” Deal said. “She gives countless hours in support of the community she loves, and Duncan shines brighter because of her efforts.”

At the end of the co uncil meeting, each of the councilmen also congratulated Wininger,with Mayor Robert Armstrong voicing his “appreciation and respect for her fervor to move the community forward.”

Councilman Jimmy Peters said, “It was a pleasure to serve with her,” and Councilman Nick Fischer commended her for “her passion for the position of council member.”

Wininger expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to serve the citizens and said, “Leave this place better than you found it. Engage and get involved. It is worth it. Duncan is worth it. The people are worth it!”
