More than 1.03 million Oklahomans are enrolled in the state’s SoonerCare (Medicaid) program, according to the Oklahoma Health Care Authority, which administers the program.
As of July, the enrollees included 502,644 adults (49%) and 533,617 children (51%).
SoonerCare members residing in a long-term care facility numbered 14,846, and 119,737 Oklahomans were enrolled in both Medicare and Medicaid, the OHCA reported.
More than 69,000 Southwest Oklahomans were enrolled in SoonerCare in July, OHCA records reflect. Those included:
•29,248 residents in Comanche County. Of that number, 6,204 (21.2%) were adult Medicaid expansion enrollees who may be affected by the new federal work requirement. SoonerCare recipients included 13,178 adults (45% of the total) aged 19 to 64, and 2,071 adults aged 65 or older. Almost 14,000 (47.86%) were children aged 18 and younger.
•Caddo County has 1,227 adult Medicaid expansion enrollees, who constitute 14.17% of the county’s 8,656 SoonerCare members. Of those, 4,030 are children aged 18 and younger, 3,796 are adults aged 19 to 64, and 830 are 65 or older.
•1,525 Cotton County residents, who included 673 children, 149 adults aged 65 and older, and 703 adults aged 19 to 64. Of those, 310 (20%) were adult Medicaid expansion enrollees.
•11,030 people living in Grady County, of whom 2,288 (20.7%) were adult Medicaid expansion enrollees. The total number of SoonerCare enrollees included 5,217 children 18 and younger, 919 seniors aged 65 and older, and 4,894 adults aged 19 to 64.
•1,608 Greer County residents; 402 of them (25%) are adult Medicaid expansion enrollees. The total number of Sooner-Care members in July included 699 children 18 and younger, 181 adults 65 and over, and 728 adults aged 19 to 64.
•800 residents of Harmon County, of whom 144 (18%) were adult Medicaid expansion enrollees. The SoonerCare members included 362 children, 334 adults aged 19 to 64 and 104 adults 65 and older.
•6,479 residents of Jackson County; 1,488 of them (almost 23%) were adult Medicaid expansion enrollees. The total included 3,080 children, 2,794 adults aged 19 to 64 and 605 adults aged 65 and older.
•2,019 Jefferson County residents; 423 of them (almost 21%) were adult Medicaid expansion enrollees. The SoonerCare total included 920 children, 899 adults 19 to 64 years of age, and 200 aged 65 and older.
•2,715 Kiowa County residents, of whom 508 (18.7%) were adult Medicaid expansion members. The SoonerCare total included 1,181 children, 1,189 adults aged 19 to 64, and 345 people aged 65 or older.
•12,080 people living in Stephens County, of whom 2,587 (21.4%) were adult Medicaid expansion enrollees. The county total included 5,492 children, 5,362 adults aged 19 to 64, and 1,226 adults aged 65 or older.
•2,091 SoonerCare members from Tillman County, of whom 415 (19.8%) were adult Medicaid expansion enrollees. The total enrollees included 982 children, 872 people aged 19 to 64 and 237 adults aged 65 or older.
