WICHITA, Kansas – The fast-casual restaurant Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers has opened the brand’s first airport store in Will Rogers World Airport, Oklahoma City, the company announced Wednesday.

The new store, owned and operated by Freddy’s license-holder and airport concessionaire Paradies Lagardere, is another step in the expansion of the brand’s non-traditional footprint and growth national growth, the company said in a news release. In addition to the airport location, Freddy’s operates restaurants in casinos, stadiums and malls and on college campuses.

We strongly believe that non-traditional Freddy’s locations at major transportation hubs can help introduce our brand to new guests while still providing our existing customer base with greater access to our menu items as they travel across the country,” Freddy’s CEO Chris Dull said in the news release. “With travel ramping back up to previous levels, it’s exciting to accomplish our goal of opening the first Freddy’s airport location.”

The airport restaurant completed a successful year of development for Freddy’s, including the rollout of non-traditional locations in Wichita Wind Surge Minor League Baseball Stadium and at Central Michigan University, according to the news release. The brand finished 2021 with 17 franchise agreements to open 102 stores over the next several years and is expected to open more than 50 locations this year.

The airport restaurant will be open from 5 a.m. until 7 p.m. each day, depending on flight schedules. It is the first Freddy’s to offer breakfast, with limited items including breakfast burritos and steakburgers.

Breakfast will be available in Freddy’s airport restaurants and offered to other select non-traditional locations.

Paradies Lagardere is excited about expanding its dining program at Will Rogers Airport with the addition of Freddy’s, said President and CEO Gregg Paradies.

Freddy’s excellent reputation and quality program will be a popular and welcomed offering for travelers in Oklahoma City, and we look forward to partnering with this great team on many more opportunities,” he said in the news release.
