Jennifer Robinette has been helping people with their insurance needs for the past 20 years, but the Lawton native says her business is more than sales and claims.

“I’m not a salesperson; I’m an educator,” she said. “I want people to know what they have.”

For Robinette, that includes her clients’ health and wellness.

“I take it a step further. As a business owner, I firmly believe the secret to a successful employee wellness program and healthier employees is helping them learn more about
their personal health and wellness,” she wrote on her company website www.jrobinette.com.

She offers business owners and their staff information and coaching tips to prevent chronic illnesses, maintaining healthy weight and preventing other issues like chronic fatigue, headaches and brain fog.

“Supporting wellness in the workplace can help,” she said.

Robinette takes the wellness issue seriously. Three years ago, at age 39, she suffered a stroke. Doctors prescribed a medicine that ultimately impacted her speech. Faced with an uncertain future, Robinette began exploring options outside traditional drugs and found the Institute of Functional Medicine which is located on the Cleveland Clinic campus in Ohio.

Now, Robinette is a certified functional medicine health coach and is willing to share wellness information with her clients. A “Wellness in the Workplace” link is at the top of Robinette’s insurance agency website.

“Now I have an abundant life and I’m full of energy,” said Robinette, the mother of two teenage boys.

The health and wellness program is one of many ways Robinette has been serving her clients for the past two decades, although some of the work has been tragic and painful. Last year, she dealt with the death of a client who was her first life insurance customer and the deaths of four other clients who died from COVID-related issues.

“That was hard,” she acknowledged. “But then the day after Thanksgiving I had a water break claim, pipes burst, and we were carrying out priceless baseball cards and I was there to do the work of the ad- juster because we couldn’t get anyone to come out because of COVID. That was a real hands-on experience.” Serving her clients’ needs remain at the top of Robinette’s list every day.

“I love talking to people and the relationships I build with my people,” she said. “They love what we do, and I love helping them. Some of my clients have been with me for 20 years.”

Robinette wants to build, literally, on the business she has developed since starting with Farmers Insurance in 2001. Primarily, she sells AAA Insurance products and is licensed to sell insurance from other companies including Progressive, Travelers, Safeco and Liberty Mutual.

“Within the next two years I want to construct a new office at 38th and Cache Road, continue with the health and wellness part of the business and help my customers be a whole being,” she said.

Jennifer Robinette Insurance Agency is located at 1924 NW Cache Road in Lawton. For more information, visit the company website or call (580) 536-9100.
