The Lawton City Council recently established priorities for the estimated $1,997,000 in unallocated revenue projected to be generated in Fiscal Year 2025 by the municipality’s 7% hotel/motel tax. The City Code requires the council to appropriate the revenue for the exclusive purposes of “encouraging, promoting and fostering conventions, tourism, industrial development and economic development” in Lawton.
