LAWTON — The Lawton Business Women’s Club recently contributed $23,000 to the club’s endowed scholarship fund with the Lawton Community Foundation.
LBW, which promotes the interests of professional and businesswomen, announced the contribution during the club’s March 8 meeting at the Hilton Garden Inn in Lawton.
“Our endowment is now fully funded!!!” the club said in a recent Facebook post.
The club launched the scholarship fund, which awards scholarships to women attending either Cameron University or Great Plains Technology Center, in February 2022.
An affiliate of the Oklahoma City Community Foundation, the Lawton Community Foundation was established in 1999 to assist charitable programs in Lawton and the surrounding area, Southwest Ledger reported last year. The foundation supports those programs through community grants, a scholarship program and work with nonprofit organizations to set up charitable endowments.
