Lawton Community Theatre welcomes a new technical director

LAWTON— Bryson Petersen is joining the Lawton Community Theatre as its new Technical Director.

“I’m excited to not only come back to the technical side of the theater,” Petersen said, “To join the Lawton Community Theatre family from the moment I walked in the door, I felt so welcomed and the board members are so supportive.”

“I’m very excited to have Bryson joining us at ... as Technical Director,” said Marsha Thomas, Lawton Community Theatre. “He is very experienced in set design and building, and we are looking forward to what he will bring to our theater.”

Petersen comes with a technical theater background, having served as the lead set carpenter at the Wichita Theatre after apprenticing under his father for several years.

Actor, singer, teaching artist and stage manager with over 15 years of experience in North Texas. Petersen recently served as the assistant arts education director at the Wichita Theatre in Wichita Falls, Texas and has directed, assistant directed, performed in and stage-managed upwards of 50 main-stage musicals.

Additionally, he is an Equity Membership Candidate, performing professionally in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Lawton Community Theatre is the longest continually running community theater in Oklahoma.
