From staff reports Residents interested in running for Lawton City Council seats in Wards 3, 4 and 5 can pick up election packets at the City Clerk’s Office, located inside Lawton City Hall at 212 SW Ninth St.
The official filing period is set for July 28-30, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily at the Comanche County Election Board housed in the Comanche County Courthouse.
To be eligible, candidates must be registered voters residing in the ward they seek to represent for at least six months prior to filing. Those elected will serve a three-year term on the Lawton City Council.
Key dates include Primary Election, Sept. 9; General Election (if needed), Nov. 18.
