LAWTON – Lawton Public Library will host an event to discuss adult and family literacy efforts in the community from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Oct. 14.

The library already offers citizenship services and adult literacy tutoring, according to a news release. Those programs were hindered by the COVID-19 pandemic but are still thriving, thanks to several grants from the Oklahoma Department of Libraries.

The upcoming Adult Literacy Roundtable aims to create a better network of providers and people who need services. The library is also looking for more tutors and has opening for additional students in the tutoring programs.

People interested in attending the roundtable should pre-register by calling the library at 580-581-3450, ext. 7. Masks are required, and individually packaged lunches will be provided.
