LAWTON - Lawton Public School students will continue with the Virtual Learning platform until Tuesday, February 23, Supt. Kevin Hime said Wednesday.

“At this time, we are dealing with weather-related issues and damages to several of our schools and facilities. This will give our staff time to evaluate all facilities, work on weather recovery efforts and allow staff to receive scheduled COVID-19 vaccinations on Monday, February 22,” Hime announced in a prepared statement.

Hime asked parents to continue to communicate with teachers regarding assignments and work. All staff will report back to work on February 22, he said.

“It is still our focus to remain flexible and continue to work with our families,” Hime said.

Hime said Lawton school teams have been in constant contact with local agencies dealing with the weather, road conditions and power concerns.
