Members of the Lawton City Council took time Friday to say ‘thank you’ to the Transportation Security Administration agents at Lawton Fort Sill Regional Airport. The city commission presented a $6,650 check to the agents during a morning press conference held by the Lawton Fort Sill Chamber of Commerce. City officials said each of airport’s TSA agents would receive a $350 gift card as a token of the city’s appreciation.

“While this gesture cannot replace the pay you have rightfully earned, it is a reflection of how much the community values you,” Councilman Allan Hampton said. “We see your dedication, we respect your service and we stand with you. “Because of the leadership of the Lawton Fort Sill Chamber of Commerce, the generosity of our sponsors, and the support of countless individuals, we were able to come together and make a meaningful impact.”
