LAWTON – People who are interested in learning more about effective leadership may want to check out the Lawton Rotary Leadership Institute’s upcoming Live2Lead Conference.

The conference will run from 8 a.m. until noon Nov. 5 at the Apache Casino Event Center, 2315 E. Gore Blvd. in Lawton. People who want to attend must purchase their tickets by Oct. 31.

Tickets are available for $100 apiece from Leadership Institute board members or through the website www.eventbrite.com. Those who buy their tickets through Eventbrite will pay an additional fee of $8.55 per ticket.

Conference participants will hear simulcast presentations from four speakers affiliated with Maxwell Leadership, a Georgia-based company that specializes in career and leadership development. Speaker and author Jeremiah Kubrick, who is not affiliated with Maxwell Leadership, will be the live keynote speaker.

“We usually try to have some onstage, live speakers during the conference,” said Ron Jarvis, chairman of the Lawton Rotary Leadership Institute.

He said the Leadership Institute is a standing committee of the Greater Lawton Rotary Club that helps Comanche County residents develop their leadership skills.

“The intent is to make high-quality leadership training more accessible to young adults and college-age students,” he said.

Jarvis said the Leadership Institute tries to host at least one conference per year, usually in November. The organization has hosted two conferences – one in February and another one in November – each year for the past two years.
