LAWTON – A special City Council meeting and swearing-in ceremony is scheduled at 9 a.m. next Monday, Jan. 13 in the Wayne Gilley Auditorium at Lawton City Hall, 212 SW 9th St.
The event will mark the transition to the newly elected city administration, providing an opportunity to bid farewell to outgoing Ward 2 Councilman Kelly Harris and to welcome his successor, Councilman-elect R.L. Smith, along with newly reelected Mayor Stan Booker and Ward 1 Councilmember Mary Ann Hankins.
All three will take their oaths of office, officially starting their three-year terms.
A small reception with light refreshments will follow in the lobby behind the auditorium, allowing attendees to meet and congratulate the newly sworn-in officials.
The entire community is invited to attend the event.
