Production company to shoot film in Lawton

LAWTON – The filmmaking company Trinitie Productions LLC is seeking actors, crew members and financial sponsors for its latest project.

Trinitie is scheduled to begin shooting the short film “Rescue” in May in Lawton. The production is the second film to use Lawton since the city achieved “Film Friendly” certification through the Oklahoma Film and Music Office in September 2021.

Certification as a film-friendly city makes it easier for Lawton-based actors and film support crews to gain experience, said Arts and Humanities Administrator Jason Poudrier.

“They don’t have to travel to go be part of the film,” he said. “They could actually do it right here in Lawton when a production company comes to us.”

Poudrier said production companies that make films in Lawton also generate revenue for the city’s coffers.

“When other production companies come in, they stay in our hotels,” he said. “They eat at our restaurants. They shop at our stores. And it’s just a way of bringing in additional revenue.”

About ‘Rescue’

“Rescue” tells the story of two sisters, Astrik and Shawna, whose adult struggles stem from childhood trauma, the Arts and Humanities Division said in a news release.

Astrik lives on the street while her younger sister, Shawna, balances motherhood with a relentless search for Astrik, according to the news release. Shawna teams up with a nonprofit organization focused on stopping sex trafficking and together they scour the streets, educating and providing essential items for those in need.

The film’s paid speaking roles include Shawna (female, 18-21 years old, African American/person of color); a nonprofit trainer (female, 25-45 years old, open race); and a customer (40 years old, professional/business look, open race and gender). The film also has several unpaid extra positions.

Interested actors and extras should submit a headshot, a body shot and a resume with contact information to producer Alexius Nate’ at  alexius@trintie3.com with the subject line “Rescue.” Potential film crew members may send resumes and a description of the position they are seeking.

Businesses and organizations interested in becoming financial partners or sponsors should contact Nate’ directly at alexius@trinitie3.com or www.trinitie3.com.
