GUTHRIE – Soon to join films shot in or partially in Guthrie, including Rain Man, Twister, Elizabethtown and The Killer Inside Me, will be a film about the life of America’s 40th president, Ronald Wilson Reagan.
According to the Oklahoma Film and Music Office, movie director Sean McNamara, known
for producing and helming children and family-oriented TV shows and films, from TV shows Even Stevens and Disney’s That’s So Raven to films including Soul Surfer and Evie Rose is looking for extras to appear in Reagan, a film starring Dennis Quaid as Ronald Reagan, alongside other veteran actors including Jon Voight and David Henrie.
Written by Howard Klausner (Space Cowboys), Reagan tells the story of how a young boy escapes poverty growing up in rural Illinois and eventually makes his way to Hollywood to become a leading actor. He later enters politics and is elected governor of California and eventually president during the go-go 1980s, going toe-to-toe with the belligerent Soviet Union.
By deadline, Southwest Ledger had received no response from the film’s production team concerning the economic impact of the filming of Reagan.
Extras are needed to work during the first and second weeks of filming and are guaranteed $80/ day for up to eight hours of filming. Anything over eight hours will be paid overtime.
All extras will be required to come to Guthrie for a COVID-19 test five days prior to filming. There will be a mandatory wardrobe fitting on the set (paid at $10 an hour for a guarantee of two hours) three days prior to filming.
The production team seeks people to play aides, reporters and other figures of varying sorts and in different time periods in the film. To submit for this film project, interested people are instructed to do the following:
• Email recent photos to the casting office. One photo should be from the middle of the chest to the top of the head. The other should be a full body shot. Camera phone photos are fine.
• Include all contact information including name, phone number, email address and city and state of residence.
• Include your clothing sizes from the list above. Failure to include clothing sizes will result in your submission being ignored.
• Make the subject heading of your email REAGAN – (name of role). Example: REAGAN – SOVIET INTERPRETER.
• Send all pictures and info in one email. Do not send multiple emails.
