From staff reports OKLAHOMA CITY – U.S. Sen. Markwayne Mullin’s office is accepting applications for service academy nominations to four of the five service academies: the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, New York; the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland; the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado; and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, New York.
The fifth service academy, the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London, Connecticut, does not require a congressional nomination for appointment, Mullin’s office said in a news release.
Applications and additional information can be found at https:// www.mullin.senate.gov/ services/service-academy- nominations/. The deadline to apply is Oct. 11.
“The decision to attend a service academy is a personal one, and I am honored to be involved in the process,” Mullin said in the news release. “The men and women of our armed forces represent the very best among us, and I am proud of the Oklahomans who desire to join their ranks. I am wishing the best of luck to those interested and look forward to reviewing the applications.”
