LAWTON – Residents planning a visit to the utility payment drive-through at City Hall should be aware that your wait may increase at certain times because of higher traffic.
Wait times may go up on or near the first of the month, when there is a natural increase in traffic both inside City Hall and at the drive-through. Additionally, keep in mind that the drive-through is dedicated to processing payments only.
The peak times and busy days are typically Mondays and Fridays, along with the first and last weeks of each month. Bills can be due on different days depending on the month, so busy dates may fluctuate. The most crowded hours generally fall between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., so longer lines may occur during those times.
The City of Lawton is expecting the arrival of new card reader machines soon, which will help streamline transactions and reduce wait times moving forward in the drive-through.
To avoid paying in person or at the drive-through, customers can pay online or sign up for autopay through the self-service portal with your online bill pay account. Alternatively, you can visit Lawton City Hall for assistance in setting up autopay.
As a reminder, the city’s after- hours kiosk went out recently during a power surge. Customers can still utilize the drop box in the drive-through after hours, but the kiosk will remain out of service until it can be repaired.
