LAWTON – This will be an April Fools’ Day to remember for comedy fans.

Why? Because Saturday Night Live alum and “Yeah, that’s the ticket!” catchphrase comedian Jon Lovitz will be coming to the Apache Casino Hotel Event Center on Friday, April 1 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Lovitz has been on television (The Critic, The Simpsons, Seinfeld, NewsRadio, etc.), film (Three Amigos, A League of Their Own, Southland Tales, etc.) and on the stage.

Lovitz’ stand-up comedy career spans nearly two decades.

He said the natural reaction for a comedian, when someone says they can’t say something – like the late Lenny Bruce – they will want to say something. After all, he added, it’s his job as a comedian to “satirize what’s going on in society and point out the hypocrisies.

“If you don’t have the ability to laugh at yourself, don’t go to a comedy club,” Lovitz told PageSix.com. “I’m not changing my act. If you’re watching TV and you don’t like the show, change the channel. It’s very simple.”

The April 1 show at Apache Casino Hotel Event Center will begin with opening act Lenny Vanhorn. Guests must be 21 years of age to enter. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Due to US Copyright laws, recording any part of the concert with professional recording devices of any kind is prohibited. However, cellphone photos may be permitted unless specifically announced otherwise prior to the performance.

The Apache Casino Hotel is located at 2315 E. Gore Blvd. in Lawton.
