A wind turbine erected in a wheat field near the Kay County community of Kildare, which is five miles north of Ponca City, collapsed last week for no apparent reason. The mishap was reported to the Kildare Fire Department at 7:23 a.m. Feb. 25, Fire Chief Travis Harris told Southwest Ledger.
