Oklahoma FFA well represented in National Speech Competitions

Retired school to be converted into shelter, day center

MIGHT Community Development and Resource Center is poised to take possession of the former Roosevelt Elementary School at 1502 SW I Ave. in Lawton. The nonprofit plans to convert the school into a homeless shelter and a day center, said Bernita Taylor, founder and CEO of MIGHT.
An ordinance designating the “I Love Lawton - Fort Sill” symbol as the official emblem of the City of Lawton, “to demonstrate and promote pride in the Lawton - Fort Sill community,” was adopted by the City Council on Oct. 22.
