OKLAHOMA CITY – Sen. Lisa Standridge, R-Norman, has advanced legislation to temporarily freeze property taxes for Oklahomans displaced by the construction or expansion of turnpikes.

Construction is underway on the newest ornament at the state Capitol, the grand arch. The arch, located on the south side of the Capitol, honors Oklahoma’s 45th Division of the National Guard. Construction was authorized last year in House Bill 4012 and is expected to cost more than $4.3 million. Public and private funds are being used. The arch echoeS the Capitol’s original design produced in 1914 by Solomon Andrew Layton. The arch – made of limestone and granite – will be 30 feet tall and 60 feet wide and
