WASHINGTON — As the Internal Revenue Service grapples with a backlog of approximately nine million unprocessed tax returns from prior years and struggles to answer taxpayer phone calls, the 2023 tax filing season officially starts Jan. 23.

Film about Oklahoma tribe to premiere at Sundance

A documentary about a Native American tribe in Oklahoma will observe its world premiere this month at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah. The lineup of 99 films, which will be presented on Jan. 19-29, includes “Bad Press.” Angel Ellis is just trying to do her job.

Absentee ballot applications available for 2023 elections

Voters interested in voting by absentee ballot during the 2023 election year can request absentee ballots now using the State Election Board’s OK Voter Portal at oklahoma.gov/elections/ovp, or by downloading and printing an application from the State Election Board website at oklahoma.
