OKLAHOMA CITY – State regulators gave their blessing recently to the transfer of utility assets and accounts of 351 predominantly rural customers from Oklahoma Natural Gas Co. (ONG) to the Fort Cobb Fuel Authority (FCFA).

Councilors: Students in need of sidewalks

LAWTON – The City Council, during its meeting Tuesday, discussed a need for more sidewalks in Lawton.
“We’ve been talking about sidewalks for four years,” said Ward 6 Councilman Sean Fortenbaugh. “I want to get the ball rolling.”

Water utility seeks OK to organize as rural district

LAWTON – Pecan Valley Waterworks Association, a private utility that sells drinking water to 600 homes west of Lawton, filed a petition with the Comanche County Commissioners to incorporate as a rural water district.

State OKs contract to make Bailey Turnpike ‘cashless’

OKLAHOMA CITY – A $7.4 million contract to convert the H.E. Bailey Turnpike to totally “cashless” tolling by mid-2022 was approved Tuesday by the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority.
At $7,429,764, Haskell Lemon Construction Co. of Oklahoma City was the lower of two bidders for the job.
