Olustee OKs bonuses for city workers

The Olustee Town Board of Trustees recently approved Christmas bonuses for the town’s police chief and city judge.
The board voted 4-0 on Dec. 7 to approve a $700 bonus for the police chief and a $100 bonus for the city judge, which is a part-time position. Mayor Patty Light was absent.

Senator refiles bill to end straight-ticket voting

OKLAHOMA CITY – State Sen. J.J. Dossett hasn’t abandoned his effort to eliminate straight-party voting in Oklahoma.
The Owasso Democrat pre-filed Senate Bill 46 for consideration in the Legislature this year. He filed a similar measure in each of the last four years, as well.

New hours set for Fort Sill gates

FORT SILL – Fort Sill is changing operating hours for Key Gate East and the 52nd Street gate.
Both gates will be closed during holiday block leave, which runs from December 21 to January 1, according to a news release from the Fires Center of Excellence at Fort Sill.
