Lawton switches from twice-a-week to once-a-week trash pick-up starting April 5. Depending on where you live, refuse will be collected on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays or Fridays. Wednesdays will be reserved for once-a-month curbside pick-up of as much as 4 cubic yards of solid waste. The transition is expected to save approximately $220,000 annually, City Hall estimates, including less frequent replacement of expensive automated side-load trucks that service residential carts. Lawtonians pay $18.47 per month for residential curbside trash pickup from one 95-gallon poly cart, which is designed to hold up to 300 pounds of solid waste, and can lease additional poly carts at a cost of $5.20 per month each.
