SQ 820 lost big, but vote was close at several sites

A statewide proposal that was spurned by a tally of 349,284 against versus 217,078 for, a margin of almost 62% to a little over 38% was rejected in all 77 Oklahoma counties. However, the election was not a blowout in all 1,982 voting precincts. For example, SQ 820 lost in Oklahoma County by just 21 votes.

The proposition was favored or rejected by just one vote in 17 precincts, and the results were a tie in a precinct in Enid. Additionally, no votes were cast in six of the state’s 1,982 voting precincts: four in Oklahoma City, one in Woodward and one in Asher.

And some precincts stood out because of the statistical margin of the vote. The most lopsided margin – 33-1 – was recorded in a McCurtain County precinct.
