LAWTON — United Way of Southwest Oklahoma will host its sixth annual Blue Tie Gala at 7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 15 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Lawton.
United Way is seeking sponsors for the Wanderlust-themed event, the nonprofit organization said in a news release.
“Sponsoring the event not only grants premium marketing exposure for you, but it also publicly demonstrates your commitment to our community,” the organization said.
The event will include entertainment by Drive, food from around the world, surprises, silent and live auctions, and more. The auctions will benefit 20 local human service programs in education, income stability, health and basic needs provided through the United Way’s 19 funded partner organizations.
Based in Oklahoma City, Drive is a five-piece, high-energy multi-genre band, according to the group’s website. The band covers a wide variety of music spanning the decades, including dance, pop, rock, country and red dirt.
“I am excited for our sixth annual campaign kickoff event,” United Way of Southwest Oklahoma president and CEO Lauren Ellis said in the news release. “Last year’s gala was our largest raised to date, and I am looking forward to another sold-out evening of entertainment and inspiration as we celebrate the beginning of our annual fundraising campaign. The community’s support of this event means so much to our organization, and we plan to make it an evening to remember!”
