LAWTON — Beginning Wed., Aug. 9, Cameron Baptist Church will host GriefShare, a 13-week faith-based support program designed to help people navigate through grief associated with the loss of their loved ones.
Linda Purdue first began facilitating Cameron Baptist’s GriefShare in 2018.
An international support system, GriefShare serves more than 20,000 churches worldwide, according to the organization’s website.
Now in its sixth year, the church has been the home for countless individuals dealing with grief.
From 6-8 p.m. each Wednesday through Nov. 1, the support group will meet in Room 106 of the church, and through Scripture and fellowship, mourners are able to process their grief. Free registration is available at www.griefshare.org; however, the GriefShare workbook is required. The workbook is also available for $20 plus shipping on the GriefShare website.
Realizing the holiday season can be especially difficult for those who’ve lost loved ones, “we will be doing ‘How to get Through the Holidays,’” said Purdue.
Cameron Baptist Church is located at 2621 SW C Ave. in Lawton.
